Summary0000034: Allow part to limit its own voices number
DescriptionAllow part to limit its own voices number per staff – this effectivelly allows the user to set the "maximum number of voices on a given part", between "1" and "2".

This has implications in limiting the number of staves that can be added to the score, since the MIDI renderer only supports 15 channels, and one voice takes one channel. Knowing ahead of time that a part will not be using a second voice will allow the user to include more staves in the score.

We will change the MIDI renderer/player anyway, and make it support more than 16 channels, so this should not be a factor anymore. Other than that, we already decided to go for the model of allowing two voices on every staff and already implemented a very convenient way to add content to voice two whenever needed.

So this issue is obsolete. Closing it.
